Bella and Jake’s oceanside wedding in San Clemente was a study in collected romance, designed almost entirely from hundreds of miles away. After more than seven years in the events industry, Bella brought her own design expertise to her dream celebration, creating a spring wedding that came together beautifully without stepping into a showroom until two months before the big day. The Vision

While both originally from Los Angeles, Bella and Jake made the move to Oregon a few years ago, far away from a Bright Showroom. Planning a wedding from afar meant approaching the process the same way many destination or long-distance couples do. 

The high school sweethearts wanted their West Coast wedding to feel “springy, colorful, organic, textured, and airy”. Their design leaned into natural elements and classic spring colors, creating a stunning balance of contemporary boho. The palette was pastel and tonal - soft peach, bright coral, wildflower yellows, and sweet lavender - painting the day with a watercolor softness throughout. Every element was handpicked with care, resulting in a design that was collected rather than trendy.

The couple knew from the start they wanted the day to feel entirely theirs: “We opted out of traditional things that didn’t feel like us and didn’t let anyone pressure us into doing something just because it’s “traditional.” It ended up being the best day full of fun memories that we’ll cherish forever.”

The Process

What was the design process like doing it all remotely?

“The Bright Design Center and Event Consultants in the showrooms were a huge help. I’m a very visual & hands-on person so not being able to visit the showrooms at first was difficult for me. Once I discovered the Bright Design Center, I was able to virtually see everything I needed [to] start forming my wedding design. When I had doubts about something, I was able to reach out directly to the Event Consultants helping me. They were so quick to respond with real life pictures of tabletop setups from their showroom.” 

Like many couples planning remotely, Bella’s biggest challenge wasn’t knowing what she liked, it was feeling confident that all the pieces would work together. “I think the most challenging part was overthinking everything and constantly second guessing myself - ‘does it match?’ 'Is it too much texture?’ The Bright Team I worked with was a huge help in putting my mind at ease and giving me honest advice and feedback. On the day of our wedding, everything looked absolutely amazing and I’m so glad I trusted their expertise!”

By the time Bella walked into the Orange County showroom two months before the big day, there was nothing left to second-guess, “I was so excited to realize everything in person is exactly the same as the pictures online in the Design Center and the photos I received. I didn’t have any changes to make! It was such an easy and seamless process.”

Through virtual tools and expert guidance from the Bright team, Bella was able to make confident design decisions from hundreds of miles away, knowing each piece would come together exactly how she envisioned. 

The Result

On April 24, 2026, the couple exchanged vows at San Clemente’s Casino. The ceremony was heartfelt and intimate, with loved ones from both sides coming together to share the special day.

Cocktail hour was simple yet significant - a mix of fluted Taylor cocktail tables and small seated rounds with Lucas chairs for guests who preferred to sit. It gave Bella and Jake the perfect chance to mingle with guests and soak in the moment. Ultimately, the bride’s favorite piece was the bar. As she put it: “I had been dreaming of a big, curved bar to take center stage since way before I was even engaged. When I saw Bright’s Alden Curved Bar I knew it was perfect for our space, with the ocean view behind it. It looked incredible on the day, and we got tons of compliments on it.”

For the newlyweds, the details were always about creating a welcoming experience for the people they love. “All we truly cared about was our guests being comfortable and having a good time [...] to hopefully show how much we truly cared and appreciated them all being there to celebrate our big day,” Bella shared.

That same sentiment carried into the reception design, where guests entered a space filled with light wood tables and chairs, playful linens, and clean stoneware. Rather than relying on matching pieces, Bella curated a collection of favorites that felt cohesive together - a testament to the bride’s eye for design. Wood tones and layered textures brought both dimension and visual interest to the space, proving that a thoughtfully curated collection can feel just as cohesive as a perfectly matched set. 

Printed linens were paired beautifully, using patterns to intentionally mark separate spaces: off-white stripes for the guest tables, subtle embroidered florals for the sweetheart table, and windowplane check for the bar-side highboys. The color palette tied everything together, allowing each pattern to feel distinct, while still telling the same story.

What advice would you give anyone looking to design their wedding with us?

“Explore all your options! Bright has so much to offer, [and] don’t feel the need to stick to a “timeless” wedding look. Branch out to what feels the most like you and the look you’re going for. They have so many offerings that can be mixed and matched into the perfectly curated look, it would be impossible not to find the perfect match for you.”

Bella and Jake’s wedding is a reminder that distance doesn’t have to compromise your vision. With the right resources, a great team to lean on, and a clear direction, they created a wedding day that felt distinctly their own.
